The General Gordon Hotel has become one of my favorite places to have dinner with friends. Following a complete reconstruction of the building, the pleasant decor, lighting, music, and atmosphere have completely transformed the place. It's great to see families enjoying dinner and friends gathering for drinks. During our visit, we ordered the Garlic Prawns Fettuccini and a delightful ricotta gnocchi with browned butter. The dishes were not only delicious but also affordable. I highly recommend this place. The menu offers a great variety of food and drinks to suit different preferences. It's truly a gem worth trying.

I am very impressed with the bistro. I ordered bruschetta expecting it to be a meager loaf of bread, and was surprised to have a hearty proper meal. I went with a large group of friends and they were all happy with their food. The place itself was clean and well maintained. I’d love to come back again and try more dishes ❤️

3 of us ate at the bistro. Atmosphere was nice. The service was great. The burger was ordinary. The rump steak was tough and chewy, the vegetables were room temperature and raw, the mashed potatoes were creamy and salty. For the money, we won't eat there again.

Had dinner here tonight - I’ve been meaning to give it a go after its reopening. I was so impressed and so were my dinner companions. The bistro is beautifully decorated, not too noisy, spacious and comfortable. The menu is very expansive and the food arrived quickly. It was delicious. I’ll be back again soon!

Old styled pub. Burger was crunchy, coating was flavoursome. Chips were crunchy. Sauce was plain, yet nice. Calamari had fresh Chili which was great. Some pretty alright beers on tap, however bit of a shame that they don't have super interesting stuff on tap. They're close to marrickville, so more variety would be appreciated. Still, Voodoo Ranger on tap is a rarity.

What an amazing experience, WOW! My work colleagues and I went here for a couple of drinks after work. I went to order some wedges for the table, but I was told the restaurant is closed. I was then told that the huge Xmas buffet that was setup in the back room is not a private function but is for everyone! Roasted meats, roasted vegies, gravy, dips the lot. After we finished eating, there was an announcement saying "all beer and cider is free for the next hour, merry Xmas everyone". This kind of amazing service should never go unmentioned. Fantastic job General Gordon!

Very handy to the railway station. The pub looks clean, with a good selection of beers and wines. The food menu looks varied and interesting. Well worth a visit or more - nothing like a quick pint before an arduous train journey, or a calming pint afterwards!

Have been here a few times for family catchups. Excellent facilities for wheelchair users and a family friendly dining room. Food is pretty decent, the usual and appropriate bar menu that has tasty option without being to big. Definitely recommend 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
